For a science fair, Brandon Fillmore, 14, invented a clever self-levelling suspension design that is getting some attention from General Motors Canada. The Nova Scotia teen’s anti-rollover suspension design uses an air-pressured spring at each wheel, connected to a pump in the middle. When a typical vehicle goes around a corner, it leans toward the outside of the turn, putting more weight on the outer wheels, creating roll. But, with Fillmore’s design, the spring at the outer wheel automatically pumps up to level out the car.
